Evolve to Sponsor 2022 Women in Cybersecurity Conference

Evolve Security is proud to announce that we are a gold sponsor of this year’s Women in Cybersecurity conference. “Narrowing the gender disparity in cybersecurity is a crucial step in solving the overall talent gap in our industry,” said Nina Kuhlman, Evolve Security’s Director of Marketing. “Women make up only 24% of the cybersecurity workforce and only 11% of leadership positions. There’s a lot of work to be done and we’re excited to support smart events like this one, drawing more women into our field.”

The 9th annual conference is presented by the Women in Cybersecurity organization (WiCyS), established in 2012. WiCyS is a global community of women, allies and advocates, dedicated to bringing talented women together to celebrate and foster their passion and drive for cybersecurity through collaboration, knowledge sharing, networking and mentorship.

"Cybersecurity is an industry very well-suited to women,” explained Kuhlman. “Critical thinking skills, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities go a long way toward success in the field, as do strong communication skills and poise under pressure.”

This year’s conference is being held in-person in Cleveland, Ohio and will host a variety of cybersecurity students, professionals, and academics. Keynote speakers include Harvard professor LaTanya Sweeney as well as Jen Easterly, Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.

"Cybersecurity is an industry very well-suited to women,” explained Kuhlman. “Critical thinking skills, curiosity, and problem-solving abilities go a long way toward success in the field, as do strong communication skills and poise under pressure.”

Salaries in cybersecurity are extremely strong. The average starting salary for an Evolve Academy graduate is $67,000. According to PayScale, the average base salary for a cybersecurity analyst ranges from $64,235 for entry-level positions to $112,984 for experienced pros.
